Marketing Director - Lumecare
Overview
Lumecare is dedicated to bringing the beauty of light to the consumer. For many years, laser and other light based therapies have only been available through doctors and spas. Lumecare has developed proprietary technology which brings safe and effective treatments that provide the consumer a more convenient, private and cost-effective approach – all from the comfort of home.
DESCRIPTION: The incumbent will possess highly developed marketing and management skills with the ability to create and execute corporate and product marketing plans and report marketing metrics to members of the senior management team and potentially Board of Directors. This position will interface with internal departments such as Sales, R&D, Operations, Clinical and Regulatory, as well as with customers and external agencies. Candidate will have initial responsibility for Sales function.
Director of Marketing
Reporting to CEO, this position is responsible for all aspects of the sales and marketing:
§ Lead development and implementation of overall marketing plan including product positioning, targeting, advertising, promotion, pricing, packaging, market research and public relations. Ensure marketing strategies are in line with revenue and profitability objectives
§ Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for U.S. and international markets
§ Create strong and compelling messaging via marketing, advertising, promotion, and public relations efforts
§ Manage the product lifecycle, including product optimization and line extensions to expand the business and product line. Continually assess customer satisfaction and act as “voice of the customer”, interfacing with R&D on new product development and product enhancements
§ Identify key customer insights for the franchise. Drive optimal utilization of market information and analyze to guide insights and decision-making. Understand market drivers, customer needs, trends and competitive landscape
§ Establish an accurate forecasting model and analyze regularly to ensure appropriate performance expectations
§ Actively participate in global key account presentations by introducing new products and negotiating customized promotions
§ Provide specifications to Manufacturing and Logistics/Production Planning
§ Deliver on revenue targets and define sales plan
§ Define and manage the sales and marketing budgets
§ Help build world class marketing team through attracting and developing marketing talent
Education
BA/BS in Business or related field; MBA or related work experience preferred
Requirements:
§ Requires 7-10 years of marketing experience, with at least 3 years marketing beauty or OTC consumer medical products. Ideal candidate will have experience with international product launches via distributors or company owned overseas offices.
§ Proven leadership with experience integrating marketing, product development and sales processes to dramatically grow revenues
§ Experience developing and executing strategic plans, marketing plans, market research, and advertising and promotion plans; Experience in retail distribution through retail, ideally channels where beauty products are sold such as department stores, specialty retail, spas and direct
§ Excellent presentation skills to effectively communicate to a variety of groups, including the Board of Directors, media, industry executives and key opinion leaders
§ Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative manner with peer groups in R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Operations, Sales, Finance, etc. to quickly win their respect and cooperation
§ Successful track record of hiring, developing and managing high quality marketing team members
§ Strong leader who can inspire people to take action and accept accountability, incite in them a sense of purpose and enthusiasm, and instill trust and credibility within and among teams
· Demonstrated ability to manage external vendors (primarily agencies) to deliver superior marketing programs and materials
· Experience working in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and highly matrixed work environment.
· High level project management experience to track and execute against new product launch required.
· Willing to travel up to 40%, including international
