Master Scheduler
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Planning Manager & Global Materials Director, the Master Schedule ris responsible for setting and changing production schedules to optimize output in accordance with established priorities and criteria. Follows the flow of materials from procurement through production and inspection. Acts as the liaison between production, engineering, purchasing and sales departments. Maintains system parameters and issues regular reports on status of materials and production. Ensures shipment of product consistent with schedules and cost criteria.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Maintain the Master Production Schedule in accordance with the business unit sales forecast, Sales and Operations Plan (S&OP), safety stock requirements, and Available-To-Promise (ATP) performance targets. Supports the following regions – USA, Europe, Canada, Asia-Pacific, Korea, and ROW (Africa, Central/South America).
· Ensure supply chain software is planning at the business unit level, and that all system parameters are respected and planned accurately.
· Responsible for maintaining safety stock levels and complying with safety stock polices. Identify and address all inventory excess and or inventory shortage issues promptly.
· Reconcile supply and demand by using supply chain system ad reconciling data against the S&OP.
· Maintain the Materials Requirements Plan (MRP) and provide Purchasing Group with procurement plan summary biweekly.
· Identifies and resolves conflicts regarding material and capacity availability and ATP integrity.
· Analyze component order requests to satisfy business unit custom demand.
· Provide weekly – and sometimes twice-weekly - reports on back-order status for all Carlsbad-supported regions. Reports provide availability dates within the current month and recovery dates for all backordered products.
· Provide regions with reports that indicate on a daily basis what they can expect to have available with respect to constrained products.
· Monitors and communicates on assembly performance.
· Meet monthly with Sales, Demand Planning, Procurement to discuss planning, inventory, and available to promise issues.
· In conjunction with Shop Floor Scheduler, plans weekly/monthly production schedules as well as daily review of assembly plans released to the Production Floor.
· Manage product life cycle from product qualification to product closeout and provide prompt communications when deviations from plan occur.
· Product Launch Wave Plan reviews and execution. Monitor regional demands for a product launch and compare to inbound schedules, making recommendations that address volume/mix issues as they arise.
· Develop Product Launch Ramp Up plan that factors in Wave Plan requirements as well as safety stock requirements. Detailed ramp that includes requirements for finished goods as well as components.
· Reviews regional forecasts for product line mix accuracy and works with Demand Planning group when issues arise.
· Works with the Custom Planner in allocating materials to satisfy custom demands and still satisfy stock demands as well.
· Conduct twice weekly meetings to go over product line status and issues (“GS” meeting). Meeting includes representative from Production, Customer Service, Sourcing, and the Planning group.
· Vendor Shipments tracking. Tracking inbound deliveries from FOB until receipt into Carlsbad or respective DC (for FG). Work with Logistics Team but Planner is responsible for determining packing slip/invoice information and turning this info over to Logistics Team.
SPECIFICATIONS/EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
· Equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, e.g., Business, Engineering, Management, etc.
· Equivalent of at least five years of prior experience in scheduling/planning in a similar environment (Repetitive Manufacturing preferred).
· Equivalent of at least five years of prior experience with MRP systems.
· Experience with repetitive Just-In-Time (JIT) systems desirable.
· APICS certification desirable.
· Golf industry knowledge/experience preferred.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES
· Good analytical skills, with good understanding of basic math and statistics.
· Ability to communicate effectively in English, in writing and orally.
· Demonstrated ability to plan, evaluate, and effectively present ideas and concepts.
· Computer literate, with good working knowledge of word processing, and spreadsheet software.
· Knowledge of MRP software.
· Ability to use email as a communication tool.
· Strong organizational skills, with the ability to attend to multiple concurrent tasks.
· Ability to take initiative and work independently, with minimal day-to-day supervision.
· Interpersonal skills suited to dealing courteously and professionally with many functions within the TMG organization.
· In summary, requires knowledge of the field of assignment sufficient to perform thoroughly and accurately the full scope of responsibilities as illustrated above.
