PLease submit application w/ salary requirements to: www. coorstek.com/careers requisition # 12921 Position Summary: Responsible for conducting research designing machinery developing processing techniques and directing technical work concerned with manufacture of ceramic products. Essential Functions: *Successful applicant must have experience in multi-layer ceramics *Must have experience in thick film processing *Directs testing of physical chemical and heat-resisting properties of materials such as clays and silicas. *Analyzes results of test to determine combination of materials which will improve quality of products. *Conducts research into methods of processing forming and firing of clays to develop new ceramic products such as ceramic machine tools and for use in glass and steel furnaces. *Designs equipment and apparatus for forming firing and handling products. *Coordinates testing activities of finished products for characteristics such as texture color durability glazing and refractory properties. *May specialize in one branch of ceramic production such as brick glass crockery tile pipe or refractories. *May specialize in developing heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials for use in aerospace electronics and nuclear energy fields. *Possesses the ability to use the computer system for departmental functions. *Willingly accepts responsibility of sharing skills and knowledge; trains other employees. *Understands and meets or exceeds quality standards; seeks to minimize error rate. *Participates in continuous improvement efforts. Supports and helps to implement new ideas. *Must maintain acceptable level of performance.Performs detailed-oriented tasks utilizing high language and math skills. Education Training and Skill Recommendations/Requirements: *Bachelor’s degree in Ceramic or Material Science *5+ years of professional work experience. *Meets all training requirements as defined by department and Training Procedure #BP-L205.
