Materials/Sourcing Coordinator

The coordinator’s primary responsibility is to support the manager in the execution & successful commercialization of innovative and functional materials on a seasonal basis for our apparel business. Responsibilities include initiating seasonal developments, monitoring & communicating development information through the complete and successful product cycle and ensuring developments are in alignment & support of business initiatives. These responsibilities will be accomplished by building & maintaining accurate development reports complete with material pricing, minimums and leadtime information; communicating with vendors; monitoring developments, anticipating problems and addressing & facilitating solutions to manager to minimize quality problems and production delays; and ensuring commercialized material information is accurately entered into SAP. Qualified applicants will have a degree in apparel design, engineering or manufacturing with 3-5 years experience in fabric development/color; knowledge and understanding of patternmaking; and Web PDM experience is a must. This detail-oriented individual has excellent oral and written communication skills, is able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, is proficient with Windows, Lotus Notes & SAP, and understands trade regulations, testing protocol, product integrity requirements, product timeline and basic production process.   JanSport, Inc. is a division of VF Corporation, one of the largest publicly held apparel companies.
