NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

We currently have an opportunity at our Corporate offices in York PA facility for a New Product Development Engineer.  The description and qualifications are as follows:

 

Description:

 

·  Responsible for developing and commercializing new packages and implementing improvements of existing packages.

·  Be a technical liaison between sales, plants and key customers on new business development and manage all technical aspects of multi-phased plastic bottle development projects from inception, planning and design through manufacturing output and commercialization.

·  Interact with internal and external designers, engineers and customers to develop functional blow molded containers.

·  Provide instruction to Tooling Engineers for the construction of molds as well as specifying tooling requirements from equipment vendors for cold end change parts for blow mold lines.

·  Provide direction to plant personnel on mold, tooling and change part installation. Coordinate specifications, mold start-ups and qualifications according to GPC and customer requirements – includes unit and production molds.

·  Provide all project documentation including timelines, data summaries, approvals and customer correspondence according to Graham Packaging New Product Development procedure.

·  Support Commercial Group on equipment (blow molder) specifications for existing assets and new installations for the development of quotations.

Experience Needed:

 

·  MUST HAVE 8 - 10 years experience in project management in the areas of product design and mold/tooling design, ideally in the plastics industry.

·  MUST HAVE  plastics experience

·  Must have ability to interact and present information to customers as well as ability to manage multiple projects.

·  Must have excellent oral and written communication skill.

·  Blow mold design and knowledge of blow molding processes using polyolefin materials desired.

·  Must be willing to travel up to 40% of time.Knowledge of PET and injection molding equipment a plus. AutoCAD experience is preferred.

 

 

Education:

 BS Engineering required
