This is what we need you to do...National Accounts Manager Position Summary

The National Accounts Manager is responsible for executing and driving a comprehensive business plan that will result in the delivery of sales and profit growth consistent with Dyson’s vision. You will manage and grow existing key accounts; build strong relationships within multiple departments; and maintain ongoing contact with customers to preserve and grow existing sales volume.

Position Responsibilities

Serve as an active and high performing member of a team and work on internal project teams as needed to foster a culture working to drive our business. Operate cross functionally with multiple departments to ensure the needs of our customers are met.
• Demonstrate the ability to penetrate the appropriate customer, customer team, and internal functions to achieve maximum results on sales objectives.
• Represent the face of the company to the trade and serve as the voice of the customer to the company.

Build and maintain exemplary professional relationships with internal and external customers.
• Ability to positively influence buyers, internal contacts and management level decision makers to achieve customer business volume plan.

Execute plans regarding distribution, merchandising, pricing, and product placement, including negotiating contracts and various programs with our customers. The following skills are essential:
• P&L proficiency
• Price file maintenance
• Promotional form competence
• Comprehensive understanding of paperwork processes
• Attention to detail and accuracy

Demonstrate competency with internal and syndicated systems, data and content organization to support the needs of Sales management and make recommendations based on assessment of data, customer, and market knowledge. The following skills are essential:
• Excellent math and analytical skills
• Ability to provide insights to POS trends within account base
• Attention to detail and accuracy

Manage funds and resources for the best return on investment. Analyze data and implement high quality solutions and actions to solve problems proactively with a customer or team.
• Identify risks and opportunities to Management and prioritize competing demands for resources, time and money.
• Accurately forecast volume and/or track and complete specific forecasting projects to meaningful deadlines.
• Maintain a high level of commitment to personally getting things done, assuming personal responsibility for achieving expected results and understanding the impact of our decisions.

Continuously challenge self development and seek better operating practices.
Act with urgency to make the most of opportunities and accomplish goals and objectives of day to day business.

Qualifications / Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 7 years previous experience in customer sales or in a consumer products environment
• Relationship management of national retail accounts
• Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with attention to details and accuracy
• Previous experience negotiating contracts
• Experience working cross-functionally and supporting sales, operations, trade marketing, and category management
• Proficient computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
