John Vena, Inc., located in the Food Distribution Center near the intersection of routes 76 and 95, is a leading regional produce wholesaler that is searching for a full-time, hands-on supervisor to direct all activities during evening receiving and shipping hours. We are looking for someone with ability and dedication, so while familiarity with a warehouse environment is necessary, we are willing to train the right candidate on the specifics of the position and the produce industry. With a diverse set of responsibilities, this position will offer a variety of tasks, so you won’t be limited to a dull routine. You must have basic math and computer skills, good communication and supervisory abilities. You will participate in and supervise all night crew activities such as receiving, unloading, product put-away, order picking and fulfillment, special packing, shipping and quality control. Additionally, you will be responsible for customer service and you will learn to receive and process orders from walk-in customers and by phone. You will report directly to the Director of Operations. This is a union position that works from 4 p.m. to midnight, Sunday through Thursday. Duties and Responsibilities:Direct activities of night staff in product put away and order fulfillment Check count and condition of all incoming product Assign lot numbers to each lot of product and properly enter inventory into the computer Take phone and walk in orders and print tickets Supervise creation of samples and displays Supervise all shipping and receiving activity
