Night Warehouse Supervisor

SUMMARY 

 

 

Purpose.........

Manage and achieve teamwork, quality, productivity and excellence in all night warehouse activities.

Scope............

Responsible for managing all operations and material handling equipment of all functions of the night warehouse.



Required........

Must be highly organized, motivated and pay close attention to detail.  Will posses solid leadership and communication skills, both oral and written. Be capable of performing all receiving procedures and documentation. 

 DUTIES

Duties include but not limited to:

Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times

Manage the productivity and accuracy of all order selection in fresh, cooler and freezer

 

Maintain Truck Loading standards by placing the right product on the right board on the right truck, etc.

 

Maintain plant safety

 

Maintain vacation schedule planning

 

Shop layout and product flow

 

Identify and utilize a new hire trainer or trainers to teach new employees how to perform their job accurately

 

Work each position on the crew on a rotation basis in order to build in, order pull quality, efficiency, and productivity

 

Ensure the warehouse configuration is maintained and products are properly slotted

 

Ensure product build-in, order pull quality, efficiency, and productivity

 

Assist in all physical inventories and cycle counts

 

Maintain safety for your crew at all times.  Be a positive advocate and maintain a commitment to all safety programs

 

Expense management and asset protection

 

Assist in unloading of freight in the event of late product transports

 

 

Review/utilize load pick sheets and ensure trucks are loaded in correct sequence and in a manner that is efficient for the drivers

 

Monitor productivity rates for all areas

 

Ensure crew is properly balanced in work areas/line to achieve maximum productivity and error-free loading

 

Establish DOI's, goals, objectives and measurement criteria for night warehouse personnelEDUCATION 

Required........

Ideal candidates will have a High School degree or GED.  Should possess or should obtain the knowledge, skills, and disciplines needed to carry out the functions assigned to the individual occupying this position.EXPERIENCE 

Required........

Two years experience managing in a warehouse/distribution environment with prior material handling and stock control abilities. Familiar with safe lifting/material handling practices and knowledge of H.A.C.C.P. and S.S.O.P. standards/compliance.

 

 

 

 

 WORKING CONDITIONS

Usual.............

Standard warehouse environment.  Works around machinery with moving parts; work around moving objects or vehicles, exposure to wetness, dampness and humidity with low temperature in cooler.  Utilize tools and other warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
