PRESIDENT - RETAIL/CONSUMER DIVISIONS
Our client is a publicly traded multi-billion dollar company that manufactures, wholesales, and retails more than 22,000 products globally through wholesalers and retailers and operates over 1000 individual retail locations. Located in the NY metropolitan area, our client is seeking a seasoned impact player for an Executive level position that will be responsible for the bottom line profitability of the North American and European retail business units as well as the Global Direct Response unit. Combined sales of these 3 business is roughly $1 billion.Reporting to the Chairman/CEO, the primary responsibility will be to build, direct and lead the team needed to:1. Drive top line results through the application of successful and creative selling strategies, coupled with professional marketing techniques.2. Control all related costs, including material acquisition, SG&A and localized expense under his/her direct control (occupancy, construction, warehousing, etc.)3. Optimize bottom line profit for three major business units.Requirements:The successful candidate must have at least 5 years demonstrated success as the Executive leader of a substantial specialty retail chain, (250 stores+) and have responsibility for both store operations and headquarters functions.Demonstrated success as the Executive leader of a substantial “Consumer Goods”, Direct Response business, which effectively used multiple links, (call center, catalog, direct mail, internet, etc.) to end-users that included a strong e-commerce capability.Demonstrated success managing multiple “Consumer Direct” business units across two or more continents with a strong preference for European experience. Strategic planning and tactical execution of efforts to significantly expand the market share enjoyed by all three major business units in the global market for products sold through established and emerging trade banners.A seasoned professional, with strong multi-unit Retail and Direct Response management experience that includes a track record of advancement and growth through various levels of Consumer Direct businessesExperience managing businesses of a scope approaching $1 billion per year in sales with expectations to grow this figure substantially. Minimum 5 years experience as Senior Executive of a $ 50,000,000+/year top-line sales Direct Response business.Highly skilled communicator and motivator. Strong Team Building and Leadership abilities. Demonstrated ability to develop direct reports for higher level positions. Experience in all areas of directing a broad mix of “Consumer Direct” business functions, including: Merchandising, Operations, Marketing, etc. Knowledge and experience in leading the expansion of store locations on an international scale; including different business relationships such as company owned, franchised, etc. PC skills to include Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and AS400 applicationsWillingness to travel globally as needed.International business experience and fluency in foreign languages, particularly Dutch and French would be viewed favorably.Relocation assistance will be provided MRINetwork is the largest and most successful search organization in the world.
