We are a privately held manufacturer and distributor of food ingredients located in Northwest Indiana that has been in business for over 75 years.

 

We have an immediate need for a motivated Plant Superintendent with prior management experience.

 

A successful candidate must have prior management experience and possess the ability to create a motivational environment to achieve company objectives. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are a necessity. A college degree in related business field is a plus but not required.

 

General Summary:

The Candidate shall be responsible for the direction and supervision of the three shift production and shipping operations within the plant. This includes managing the production supervisors and hourly union workforce to meet company objectives cost effectively. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 Maximize production, quality levels in the Plant.  Minimize shipping and production errors. Coordinate shipment of sales orders with Traffic, Sales, Warehouse, and Plant in an efficient and timely fashion.  Plan production activities to meet this demand and communicate it to the organization.Train, schedule, counsel, and discipline Plant employees.Maintain all necessary Plant records accurately and in an organized fashion.Maintain sanitation and housekeeping level in the Plant.Deal with daily issues in a positive and constructive manner.  Be a leader of others and encourage good performance in others.Keep management informed of issues and problems that are occurring in the Plant.
