 Our client is a privately owned, multi-national leader in the frozen food industry.  
Their quality products are sold in more than 110 countries.  The company has grown steadily since their incorporation in 1956.



The Position
 Direct purchasing initiatives by providing strong technical leadership and commodity market insight within scope of purchasing responsibility.  Ensure consistent sources of supply while meeting cost, schedule, service and quality requirements.  Lead efforts to identify opportunities to improve costs, lead times service and payment terms.  Actively manages commodity risk associated with buy responsibility.  As member of the purchasing enabler team, helps to establish processes and operating principles for the group in accordance with company strategic objectives.
 

Position Responsibilities

1.  Identify and communicate key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct reports promotes a successful attitude, leadership and teamwork to achieve business results
2.  Directs implementation of senior management programs to ensure the success of the company
3.  Directs efforts to reduce spending across responsible categories
4.  Develops and implements risk management strategies to align category spending with overall business unit goals and objectives
5.  Prepares, communicates and educates client groups and teams on changes in regulatory policy and market dynamics
6.  Develops purchasing team goals to support departmental and company goals
7.  Analyzes company spending patterns to identify opportunities to combine business unit and departmental purchases to reduce total cost and simplify operations
8.  Communicates with suppliers and within company to ensure understanding of and support for purchasing processes, projects, strategies and initiatives
9.  Coordinates with materials management partners to identify planned purchasing requirements
10.  Directs team of purchasing professionals.  Oversees supplier selection and negotiations
11.  Directs training and development of team members indirectly and directly managed


The Candidate
1.  BS required, MBA preferred
2.  8 years experience in commodity procurement with demonstrated expertise in development and execution of risk management strategies
3.  Cross-functional training and diversified background within food industry or related field
4.  Excellent oral and written communication skills
5.  Proven ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
6.  Proven ability to research and analyze pricing and commodity trend data
7.  Ability to perform comprehensive financial analyses
8.  Strong organizational and planning skills

Position Location:  Lisle, Illinois

Compensation:  Base compensation of 110-130k plus 15% bonus
