POSITION DETAILS:Under the direction of the Product Development Director, the Product Development Manager will assist in the development of global business/brand strategies for new product introductions. You will assist in developing new product strategies, including the positioning, formulation and packaging.Identify consumer, salon, and technological trends globally.Interface with key salon professionals and organizations for understanding of market trends and activity on relevant brand issues.Conduct market research and competitive analysis at the global level.Generate ideas and concepts for products, which are innovative and revolutionary to the professional salon industry on a global level.Assist in the development and achievement of the annual strategic marketing plans. Interface with Marketing, Creative, R&D, QC, Sales, Purchasing and Operations from initiation to launch for new product development needs.RESPONSIBILITIES: Interface with key salon professionals and organizations for understanding of market trends and activity on relevant brand issues. Conduct market research and analysis: including consumer, salon and product trends; competitive analysis; and compile feedback from the domestic and international field.Contribute to the generation of ideas and concepts for products which are innovative and revolutionary to the professional salon industry.Assist in the design and execution of clear brand building plans in line with the objectives of the division, including the annual strategic marketing plan and new product launches. Assist in maintaining new product launch schedule.Lead assigned projects from initial concept to implementation, and coordinate the teamwork between the different departments involved. Initiate new product briefs and timelines to R&D and complete product plans, work orders and marketing requests and item approval forms to Creative, Marketing and Purchasing. Liaison with Purchasing for product packaging and ship tests.Maintain New Product Matrix and lead weekly new product status meeting with Operations, Purchasing, Marketing and Creative for both SpaRitual and Orly brands.Manage and develop product testing and summarize product performance feedback to R&D.Coordinate product samples for sales, education and pr and early release of mock-up materials and chip cards.Review and proof all artwork routings and ensure timely artwork release.REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor degree in Marketing or related field required.23 years product development and brand management, experience in the beauty and cosmetic industry required. Experience in the professional beauty industry preferred.Solid analytic abilities. Proven expertise in problem solving and multiple project management.Proven leadership skills, proactive ideas, and effective influencing skills using cross-functional, cross-cultural, cross-industry and other inspirations.Conceptual thinking, curious, open, enthusiast and dynamic.Detail oriented.Self-starter and highly motivated.Strong potential of development: willingness to take responsibility beyond the scope of the positionCreative Flair: Sensitivity to beauty, products, packaging, art and design.
