QA Manager

Job Summary:

 

Develop, Direct and Maintain an effective QA function to produce product meeting stated Butterball requirements, and ensure all products are safe and wholesome. Insure that all USDA mandated programs are in place and functioning per the regulation, and provide leadership fpr the ISO function.

 

Essential Function:

 

·   Develops and implements a quality production program to ensure conformity of purchased material and final products to quality standards.

·   Assure Food Safety Requirements, Regulatory Compliance and company policies are achieved.

·   Act as Liaison with Sales, Marketing, Business, R&D, USDA, and Product Development.

·   Meets with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality issues as required.

·   Prepares for and represents the company during all related audits.

·   Coordinates and approves all sample submissions of new products and engineering changes.

·   Assure compliance with all established Safety Procedures

·   Provides leadership regarding ISO functions in the plant

·   Assure Q.A. positions are staffed with qualified and competent individuals. 

 

Additional Responsibilities:

 Confer with operations and maintenance to assure quality systems are relevant to the needs.Champion the Safety and HR functions in the department.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

 

·  Detailed knowledge of all USDA regulations and Company Policies

·  Use of a Personal Computer to communicate, analyze data, and conduct research

·  Good communication skills both verbal and written

·  Experience with Ready-to-eat products.

·  ISO experience and knowledge

 

Education and Experience

·  BS Degree in Food Science or related field or the equivalent in training and experience.

·  Ten years of practical experience in a food processing facility

 

Working Conditions:

 

Usual office conditions with occasional exposures to undesirable elements.
