QA & Release Engineer

Deluxe Digital Studios (DDS) is a leading supplier of DVD, Blu-ray, and digital distribution post production services, including subtitling and localization, video compression, encoding, authoring, menu design, bonus content production, and network services.  DDS is a global company with presence in 6 countries. Our clients include the major Hollywood studios as well as a growing number of on-line retailers. We are currently seeking an experienced QA and Release Engineer. This individual will be based in Burbank, CA.  
 
This QA/Release Engineer will perform quality assurance and release management of internally-developed (1) online, enterprise-level server-side applications and services and (2) Windows-based software applications for automating and enhancing the development and deployment of DVD, Blu-ray, and digital distribution applications.  This position is an integral part of the product release process. As a member of the New Technology Group, this person will be responsible for internal QC and release processes between R&D and both internal deliveries as well as outside customers that use Deluxe’s products.  This person will be responsible for verifying releases before they are released to consumers for use with Blu-ray players (both set-top and PC). 

 

Primary Job Duties

 Develop and execute test suites, test cases, server load testing, and testing releases against various players.Isolate, recreate, and report bugs, verify fixes, maintain the bug tracking system.Perform software builds and releases.Verify source code control of releases.Develop feature areas in collaboration with software engineers.Write test scripts and test plans.Contribute to feature planning and development.

Qualifications

 

·  Extensive background in the field of quality control

·  3+ years experience in software quality control in enterprise server software development and/or Microsoft Windows software applications in C++, C#, ASP.NET

·  Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, in particular Microsoft Visual Studio 2005.  Experience with Microsoft SQL a plus.

·  Expertise with QA processes, writing and executing test plans and test cases, maintaining bug database, verifying fixes, software releases

·  Very detailed and task oriented

·  Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

·  Knowledge of software development, testing, and release processes.

·  Knowledge of video and audio processing in Windows XP OS a plus.
