Subsequently, this world wide unique patent has been applied for in major international countries.Thus, as the successful candidate you will have a comprehensive and intimate knowledge of the dynamics of carbonated soft drinks, new age and alternative drinks, including strengths and weaknesses of retailers, distributors, competitors, possibly co-packers and certainly other vectors that apply to this industry.This position will ideally be based out of the Corporate Office in Carlsbad, California. This is open for discussion; however there will be a minimum requirement of at least one week per month in the Carlsbad office.As the successful candidate you will have an inside track of advancement to Executive Vice President/COO.
Summary of RESPONSIBILITIES Required Results & Rewards:
Responsibilities:This position will be responsible for leading by example and action all aspects of the Sales and Marketing function of The Designer Whey Protein Company (a division of NEXT Proteins, Inc.)This position will be responsible for meeting sales targets, driving sales growth and increasing EBITDA as a result of developing and implementing sales strategies and tactics created and agreed upon with the CEO, Board, and in consultation with other team members.The responsibilities and required results outlined below are key points that provide guidance and visibility in to some, but not necessarily all, of the activities that are required of this position to meet its key rainmaking responsibilities and functions.There may be additional duties and responsibilities as considered appropriate upon discussion and consultation with the CEO.
Required Results: Critical requirements of this job are to continuously meet monthly sales forecasts and targets and increased sales growth through on strategy expansion of customers, SKUs and brand awareness.Furthermore, the expectation is that the Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, will take whatever appropriate initiatives are necessary so that the company meets its objectives.
Rewards: The position will be remunerated by salary and monthly, quarterly and annual bonuses tied to sales quotas as well as a significant participation in the annual company bonus pool based on EBITDA. Additionally, a brand liquidity event participation agreement is an option.

YOU… Are a seasoned executive with a provable track record of year in/year out results that move the top-line needle and value metric in >80% of career history.Possess a business changing career history.Have deep and broad experience with Fast-Moving Consumer Goods, specifically with carbonated, non-carbonated and/or new age beverages, with a major public company or division thereof (i.e., Pepsi, Coke, Kraft, Vitamin Water, Snapple, Gatorade, Rockstar, Red Bull, Hansens, etc.).Are a savvy, smart and street wise intellectual with supporting academic achievements which have acted as a springboard and tool for a stellar career record.Maintain a fit, healthy, vibrant and stable lifestyle.Possess impeccable references.Have the ability to generate results whenever and wherever (home, office or traveling).Are an expert with all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project).Have at your fingertips and in your tool box a comprehensive set of all critical sales and marketing psychology and techniques accompanied by a successful track record of use.Boast utter assimilation of all aspects related to category management in FDM, C-store and additional unique outlets such as delis, smoothie shops, vending, etc.Have delivered provable results at major food and club store outlets.
May have sales experience with Whole Foods, GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, Trader Joe’s and Starbucks.Ideally possess retail, buying, marketing and/or management experience at any of the aforementioned companies.May have experience working in an entrepreneurial and private equity environment (acquisition and divestment participation a plus).Do possess experience working with small companies and have the ability to produce results without Big Brother funding to support efforts.

Sales Responsibilities and Required Results – What you will do and deliver:Basic understanding of product development, manufacturing processes, ingredients and functionality.This would include core strategies of distribution and retail trends to bring products to market, including Direct Store Delivery (DSD), wholesalers, direct to retail warehouse shipments, broker and direct sales. Relentless focus and delivery on gross margin expectations and profitability.Discuss, agree, develop and implement sales strategies and tactics to accommodate corporate goals with CEO and other team members.Direct all pricing, sales forecasting and marketing budget activities and sets performance goals accordingly for the sales and marketing functions. Manage pricing, sales and marketing activities.Review sales statistics with top notch in-house analyst to determine customer needs, price schedules and to formulate policy and assist distributors/retailers in promoting sales.Direct staffing, training and performance evaluations of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service staff to develop and manage sales program. Direct development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas and goals. When appropriate, represent the company at key trade association meetings and shows. When appropriate, meet with and deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives to build solid customer relationships as well as negotiating and closing deals where required.Responsible for managing brokers to promote accountability and performance relative to forecast.Prepare regular periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
Marketing Responsibilities and Required Results – What you will do and deliver:Deep rigorous understanding of consumer marketing.Intimate with all aspects associated with the non-alcoholic carbonated drink market.Ability to work with different promotional tools such as displays, racks and shelf space.Responsible for market positioning to hit consumer targets as well as retail and merchandise strategy.Understand the crucial drivers of appeal as well as consumer attitudes towards the branding, product benefits, packaging, suggested pricing, and preferences for key competitor brands.Oversee the development of new and existing brands as part of the business strategy with CEO and others.Responsible for the proper execution of all marketing strategies and plans leading to increased sales and access to all retail accounts and channels.Work with Brand Manager and public relations representatives to develop consumer awareness strategy.Will supervise overall plans for print, radio, sampling and all other promotional activities.Maintain and adhere to company budget.
Rewards – How and what you will be paid:The position will be remunerated by a solid competitive salary and excellent bonuses tied to the achievement of sales quota targets and EBITDA. The bonus incentive plan is split into two parts. One part is directly tied to meeting monthly sales targets. The second part is a tiered company wide incentive plan based on EBITDA results and other factors. This position will be part of the top tier of the incentive plan.
