Essential Functions° Achieves assigned goals for order and shipment volumes, as well as margin percentage ° Implements effective strategic market-specific sales strategy initiatives/plans for regional sales team and distribution ° Manages regional business activities-budget management, discounting, account planning and relationship management of customers, dealers and, where applicable, A&D firms ° Involvement with direct selling activities on strategic opportunities on front/back ends of sales process-develop/grow Multi-Location Accounts (MLAs) in the region-work with other RSDs to identify additional MLA opportunities ° Develops/grows/maintains dealer sales in the region through business development, account management, and dealer sales focused activities ° Hires/develops/maintains/coaches a professional, enthusiastic, competent and committed sales staff-measured by performance results, employee morale, number of Cube Award winners, etc. ° Evaluates the performance/activities of the regional sales team-makes adjustments as needed for effective deployment of personnel ° Interfaces with A&D Director(s) on overall regional strategy ° Drives business development within the region-monitor and track opportunities ° Provides timely, accurate reporting as required by the leadership team ° Conducts all sales activities and processes within the parameters of the HM Sellutions process, utilizing corporate tools/resources provided ° Manages iSPOT (Opportunity Management system) information appropriately in order to approve 'wins' and complete monthly forecasts of expected sales volume, etc. ° Manages within assigned expense/program budgets ° Performs additional responsibilities as requested Minimum Requirements° Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration or related field-Master's degree preferred-equivalent level of experience considered if evidence of ongoing professional development ° Minimum 8-10 years of successful contract/capital goods selling experience with a minimum 3 years of sales leadership experience, demonstrating a proven track record of leadership success and knowledge of the contract furniture industry ° Some knowledge of HM products, services and culture, as well as the ability to distinguish HM products/services from the competition ° Advanced selling skills, e.g. account penetration, strategic selling, conceptual selling, issues-based selling, consultative selling, negotiation and contracts (closing) as well as ability to think strategically and execute tactically ° Must have strong organizational and problem solving skills as well as the ability to collaborate and negotiate ° Must be an assertive, self-starter with the self-confidence and ability to represent HM in a professional manner in order to gain a high level of confidence from a diverse group of customers ° Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, at all levels of the organization (e.g., 'political savvy') and able to build long term relationships with customers/partners (particularly at senior decision-making levels within an organization) ° Must encourage new ideas and have an ability to generate/explore/clarify them as well as having a passion for the sales process with an understanding of its foundations, actively seeking opportunities, calculating risk and committing to action ° Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication ability with strong emphasis on listening-demonstrated people management skills and ability to work/contribute in a team environment ° Demonstrated high personal performance standards, the desire and ability to continuously learn and must be results-oriented (i.e., holding oneself accountable for results), as well as the ability to gain a high level of confidence from subordinates and a large number of customers ° Demonstrated high level of integrity and business ethics ° Must be financially literate, possess business acumen and be profit conscious ° Ability to effectively use office automation/communication software/tools used in the HM office environment ° Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation ° Willingness to travelApply online today: http://hermanmiller73.recruitmax.com/MAIN/careerportal/default.cfm?szUniqueCareerPortalID=96cf27f8-8e51-4c4d-94e3-990bd6723227 Since 1946, Spherion has been helping talented individuals find rewarding job opportunities that drive excellence in their career.
