The primary function of this position is to provide professional advice and support to current and potential Slim-Fast consumers and answer detailed nutrition or product-related questions that are beyond the scope of the Consumer Services Representative (Slim-Fast Weight Loss Advisor). This position also supports the department as a liaison with Regulatory and Medical Marketing to provide answers to technical consumer questions and support for project-related activities.

Responsibilities
• Respond to consumer inquiries posted on the “Ask the Dietitian” section of the Slim-Fast website and dietitian-related consumer inquiries on the 1-800 toll free line. Questions may be very technical and detailed. Responses must be medically accurate and communicated in easy-to-understand language.
• Serve as a departmental resource on nutrition and weight management. Identify consumer issues and industry trends, and communicate to Marketing and discuss ways to address these issues with consumers. Assist Consumer Services Representatives on highly technical or difficult consumer nutrition questions. Deliver ongoing staff training on nutrition topics identified by consumers.
• Maintain electronic databases and training manuals and continually update training manuals, reference materials and form letters with up-to-date product and nutrition information. Some of this work is directed and some is self-directed.
• Collaborate with key departments to provide product information to Consumer Services such as R&D on new product launches; Medical on current weight management news; and Regulatory on consumer issues. Update Consumer Services staff of new information as appropriate.
• Interface with health care professionals on weight management issues and Slim-Fast products and diet plan. Represent Slim-Fast at trade shows and consumer promotional events. Respond to inbound calls and emails from medical professionals.
• Supervise department on as-needed basis.
• Effectively interact with consumers on very technical questions. Listen and understand consumer questions quickly.
• Efficiently respond with medically-accurate information in easy-to-understand language.
• Support Brand Marketing, Regulatory and R&D to provide answers to technical consumer questions and support project-related activities.

Skills
• Excellent communication skills (written / oral). Good listening and counseling skills.
• Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); highly effective writing and verbal skills; excellent telephone skills
• In-depth knowledge of company products, including all Unilever foods brands. Knowledge of competitive brands and programs

Experience Required
• Must be a Registered Dietitian. Certificate in Adult Weight Management/Counseling preferred.
• Must have 2 – 4 years in clinical nutrition or related field; experience in weight control counseling preferred.
• Consumer Service experience desirable.
• Bachelor of Science in Food & Nutrition or related field
• Strong knowledge of nutrition, physiology, metabolism and behavior change as it relates to weight loss and healthy lifestyle improvements.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines; critically evaluate analytical data; strong team player.
• Passion for weight loss and health promotion.
• Empathy and consumer understanding.
