We are seeking an Optical Research Engineer

 

This is a position for an optical engineer in Lexmark's PS&SD scanner center of competence.  The engineer will be responsible for the optical system performance/quality of scanners in Lexmark's business class aio/mfp products.  Highly desired experience includes:  scanner component/optics knowledge such as lenses, sensors (cis/ccd), lamps, afe's; image processing algorithms;  knowledge of scan quality metrics;  familiarity with scanner test/measurement instrumentation; and software programming.  The position will also include research of scanning technologies.  Travel may be expected to support manufacturing activities and to work with vendors on component selection and component issues

 

Designs and carries out research to discover and create new technologies, materials, and phenomena. Through investigation or experimentation, examines, evaluates, and tests discoveries. Proves, applies and interprets scientific or engineering laws and theories. Identifies application of research for technologies or products and develops new solutions for the organization and its customers. Creates prototypes to demonstrate results. Presents results of research to appropriate scientific and business audiences, and may participate in commercialization of results.
