Retail Marketing Manager
Overview:Marketing management responsibility for The Home Depot and Menards with a focus on dramatic growth through category and channel management initiatives. The individual in this position will provide strategic input and direction to the retail channel business supporting the brands. This position is responsible for developing the future state vision for retail and executing to that vision. This individual will provide strategic direction and lead the development and implementation of marketing communications, promotions and program development to meet customer needs and meet the objectives of the business. He / She will also act as liaison to other business units and functions on joint projects related to assigned area. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management within and outside of the organization. Responsibilities: Leading the development and implementation of strategic marketing initiatives involving projects, products and programs to drive continued growth in revenue, profit, market share and deliver customer satisfaction and profitability. Directing the marketing resources in support of the overall business and brand strategies at retail. Shares product management support responsibilities across the Residential, Americas and Commercial organizations. Coordinating marketing activities to achieve smooth implementation, resolve problems, and optimize resource usage among people, time and money. Supporting the content of brand and product literature, promotional materials, and other marketing communications. Define content, attendance, and collaborate with other Marketing Communications and Sales Managers to ensure brand message consistency and objectives are achieved. Interpreting various economic, sales, competitive, pricing, channel, customer (POS) and other market data to identify market trends, opportunities and threats, develop key findings/conclusions and set business objectives and actions plans to address opportunities and threats. Develop appropriate business proposals and programs for short and long term business planning. Participate in both short and long term planning discussions. Develop, implement and measure the success of customer programs on a project and an annual basis. Coordinate VOC communication with Product Managers to ensure a strong two-way flow of communications between Marketing Managers, Product Managers and the various influencers. Support retail sales managers in producing and delivering customer presentations. Participate in Lean Six Sigma activities to improve the business processes related to the retail channel and Residential, Americas group. Knowledge & Work Experience:Background in consumer products (durable goods preferred), technical or mechanical / industrial marketing / product management. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in customer / channel marketing and / or retail marketing (Home Center retailer experience preferred), market research, data analysis, business planning, market planning, product development and management, forecasting, marketing communications. Education & Minimum Years of Experience:Bachelor's Degree Required (Business, Marketing and / or Engineering preferred). MBA preferred. Seven to ten years of applicable experience with durable goods products, and multiple channels of distribution. Must have demonstrated capability to understand technical product issues, to interact effectively with channel partners/customers, end users, product marketing, finance and manufacturing personnel. $80-$110k salary, no relocation assistance provided.
