Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) Manager
Clinton, CT

Unilever health and beauty manufacturing plant, is responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the areas of safety, quality, health, and environment and to manage these functions to ensure the safety of consumers, employees, and the local community.

Keys Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be a visible leader on SHEQ initiatives in the Clinton Plant.
- Manage the quality assurance and control processes to ensure all products meet product specifications. Including drug, device, cosmetic, and GMP regulations and policies issued by the FDA, OSHA, and EPA.
- Make final in-plant accept/reject decisions on raw materials, components, WIP and finished goods.
- Provide quality control direction for purchased components and raw materials.
- Ensure site compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements in all areas of SHEQ.
- Monitor and report site performance in the areas of SHE and product quality.
- Investigate all incidents - accidents, near misses, consumer complaints, environmental incidents - and provide effective and appropriate improvement outcomes.
- Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and counseling to direct reports and all plant employees. Direct staff includes (2) Safety Coordinators; (15) Quality Technicians, and (3) Environmental Attendants.
- Active member of TPM Quality and Safety pillar
- Directs the plant occupational health and medical functions and workers compensation efforts.


Minimum Qualifications

BS or equivalent in Safety Science, Quality Chemical Engineering, Chemistry Food/Science Technology, or equivalent
Additional Qualifications 6-10 years experience in QA or Manufacturing

Key Experience - Hands on experience in the management of quality processes and systems, focusing on FDA, GMP, and Environmental compliance.
- Exposure to SHE processes, systems, and requirements in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in providing leadership to a team of technically qualified and experienced people.
Key Relationships Maintaining key linkages with corporate functions such as TIMQ, SHE, R&D, and local government agencies.
