SIOP Lean Supply Chain Specialist / Demand Planning Expert

Our client is in need of individuals capable of leading new initiatives within the Supply Chain that will integrate the organization and its processes with its vendors and suppliers. The ideal candidates will be responsible for facilitating evaluations of current Supply Chain methods and use evident opportunities to implement the best solution for the client and its customers. They must do this while achieving compliance for all involved Suppliers for our client by developing and implementing a Strategic Supply Chain Plan.

 

Knowledge of the manufacturing industry, including related planning, logistics / distribution, and packaging is key. Also within the scope of these roles are project budgets, capital expenditures, accounts payable and receivable and all other relevant expenses. Sales and operating planning, master scheduling, demand planning, distribution, logistics and order fulfillment are additional aspects that must be utilized. Success is to be measured by reduction in inventory, logistics and total cost savings, along with customer service improvement. The end result will be overall collaboration between every involved party, both internally (specialist role) and externally, Expert Lean role.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred Lean or Six Sigma certification (minimum) with Green Belt (preferred) Minimum 2-3 years experience as a Demand Planning or SIOP position within Supply Chain at a manufacturing company with a progression of success and responsibility.  Additional 5 – 10 years with a Manufacturing company in Logistics, Transportation, Purchasing, Distribution Operations.  Experience dealing with Retail Customers such as Wal Mart, Home Depot or other major retailers is preferred. Full understanding of Supply Chain Best Practices and benchmarking tools Ability to effectively communicate with company management APIC’s Certification preferred. In-depth knowledge of manufacturing planning and distribution processes. 2 years minimum basic experience with supply chain analysis (lean process) to determine “cost of quality”, or operational impact of non-compliance.
