Senior Accountant - Dole Packaged Foods

The Senior Accountant/Analyst will play a key role in an organization that is searching to increase efficiency through innovation and a strong knowledge of JD Edwards (JDE) while maintaining the accuracy of the financials. This position is responsible for JDE accounting system setup and maintenance, including implementing the financial reporting requirements by company and entity. The Senior Accountant/Analyst is also responsible for some of the more complex accounting in accordance with GAAP, including transfer pricing and foreign exchange, and for reviewing transaction activity to ensure compliance with management-authorized policies and procedures.RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:JDE system setup and support, including but not limited to maintaining the COA, new object accounts, business units, and JDE financial reports.Interface requirements and setup with sub-ledgers.Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations accurately and timelyAccount analysis ' ability to determine drivers of changes in financial statements and accounts between periods and communicate findings effectively in verbal and written format.Prepare and submit financial reports and data required by Corporate, auditors, and other internal and external customers on a timely basisIntercompany transactions with Dole's manufacturing companies in Thailand and the Philippines, including transfer price adjustments and reconciliation of inventory, freight and accounts payable balances.Partner with A/P, A/R, operations and marketing departments to gain understanding of business and data requirements, propose, evaluate and implement solutions which ensure general ledger balances are correct, transactions are classified properly and reported accurately Identify, propose. implement and document improvements to processes and proceduresPrepare, support, and explain tax packages and audit packages as requiredAssist the Financial Planning Department in their reporting and budgeting processesAssist the Accounting Manager in special projects as neededEducate and train team members on accounting system set-ups and account structure to develop other JDE superusers. Other duties as assigned.
