Shipping and Receiving Manager

Philips Lumileds Lighting currently has an opening for a Shipping & Receiving Manager to support, lead and manage our San Jose, CA Shipping and Receiving operations. Duties include but are not limited to: Train, develop and manage associates on goals, operations on day to day tasks.Communicate and implement daily shipping with department manager and senior staff.Set standards and implement measurement tools to guide continuous improvement activities.Track carrier performance and provide analysis to upper management.Facilitate professional development of shipping and receiving clerks and maintain safe, secure and productive work environment.Prepare shipments for destination.Prepares bills of lading.Inspects shipments for damages or defects.Trace lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments.Maintain department database, prepare routine reports and file shipping and receiving records.Act as initial point of contact for customers regarding day to day shipping and receiving operations.

Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or Industrial Engineering desiredMinimum 8 years shipping/receiving/customs compliance/supply chain security experience with 5 years of management responsibilities.Must be results driven with a high sense of urgency; strong analytical, problem solving, and verbal communication skills required.Background with a high technology hardware or semiconductor company ideal.Ability to motivate and manage subordinates within group.
