Territory Sales Manager - Bay Area to Sacramento, CA
Precise Pet Products, a manufacturer of high quality natural/holistic pet foods is looking for a Territory Sales Manager in the Bay Area / Sacramento Region. Only those individuals with experience and knowledge of animal nutrition, pet care and/or the specialty pet trade channel will be given serious consideration. Prior experience with a super premium pet food manufacturer who sells and markets natural holistic pet foods or pet product distributor experience would be very beneficial. Primary responsibilities would include calling on specialty pet stores, farm & feed stores, some veterinarians and possibly some breeders and kennels where super premium pet foods are sold. Building reliable and trustworthy business relationships with your customers is the key to success. Our territory sales managers are required to make 5 to 8 “Face to Face” sales presentations a day to retail businesses and customers showing our product line to buyers and business owners. Selling and marketing our products is personally rewarding and provides a lot of self-gratification when you see the benefit that our canine and feline foods offer pets. The pet food industry is also somewhat recession proof and provides security. Having specialty pet care knowledge and being a good sale closer is definitely a tremendous benefit for this position. Opening new accounts, writing orders and working closely with our distributor to build and strengthen our brand franchise are the key responsibilities. Orders written are forwarded directly to our distributor for fulfillment. This requires a close working relationship with our distributor and their sales team to maximize sales and coordinate any in-store promotions and marketing programs being sold.
We are looking for a candidate who has good interpersonal skills and is a self motivated individual who strives for success. The ideal candidate should also be well organized, reliable, detail-oriented and have a high level of integrity. Education in a pet related field or experience and knowledge of the pet food industry and retail pet store business is a definite plus and will be given priority consideration. This territory encompasses the entire Bay Area and extends east to Modesto and as far north as Sacramento. Our representatives must have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation and have a good driving record. We offer a competitive salary, a monthly car allowance and reimbursement of overnight travel expenses.
