Position Summary
Coordinates product shipments between customer services, warehouse, and carriers to ensure on-time deliveries. Arrange routing for transportation carriers. Inform carriers of what, when, and how the orders will be ready for shipment, and what trucks will be needed. Perform duties within all safe, sanitary, and good housekeeping guidelines. Performs a wide variety of data entry and other clerical duties, providing administrative support to warehouse supervision. Ensures that all scheduled shipments are complete and are shipped in a timely and accurate fashion. Performs data entry on all documentation necessary to produce a Bill of Lading. Coordinates with freight carriers to ensure timely pick up of all freight scheduled for that day's shipments.
Arrange the transportation for origin customers. Scheduled orders to be pulled by the Warehouse Crew. Work with the supervisors to ensure that correct product is pulled and staged for orders. Alert carriers to what, when, how the orders will be shipped, and what size truck is needed. Set up orders prior to shipping date.Communicate all order problems to the Administrative Supervisor.Communicate with Customer Service Representatives regarding transportation problems and carrier pickups.Keep daily statistics on orders less than 24 hours and computes a status report each day of the week on orders with less than 24-hour lead time.Handle telephone inquires about orders, as necessary. Monitor orders that require certificate of analysis to ensure they will be completed as required. Maintain all departmental files.Enter data information into the computer, such as name of shipper, weight, destination, and piece count.Follows through on all special duties assigned by the Warehouse Administration Supervisor.Answers all telephone calls and assists customers including Wal-Mart traffic, carrier dispatchers, and drivers.Records all scheduling of carriers as they are called in by their dispatchers.Records all appropriate carrier information including their arrival and departure times on the Daily Shipping Report.Assists packers with any computer questions or problems they may have.Dispatches orders and prints Bills of Lading as they are packed.Reports any inventory problems to the Warehouse Supervisor, Lead, and Cycle Counter immediately.Assist with keeping inventory accurate at all times.Confirms orders immediately after they are shipped.Create and/or receive, including verifying accuracy of warehouse load transfers as appropriate.Receive through a GRN entry and verify accuracy of any product from Contract Packagers.Enter data transfers from packers, relocators.Run the list of values for Amend Dispatch Notes to ensure all orders are confirmed at the end of each shift.Other duties and responsibilities to be assigned as needed.
Position Requirements
Basic Math and Read; knowledge of basic office procedures and basic PC skills. High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent training.
Experience: Minimum of one to three years of warehouse experience, including transportation arrangements in administrative duties including general office work and computer use, preferably in a warehouse environment. SAP operating system a plus
