Vice President of Sales

Our client is an industry leading supplier of housewares and tabletop products that are sold to the mass merchant, department stores, warehouse club stores, big box and specialty retail chains throughout the United States.  We are seeking two Vice President's of Sales for their housewares and for their tabletop divisions. These positions report directly to the President and CEO of the company.

Key responsibilities for these positions include:Develop and implement the business plan for the division that includes: sales goals, customer sales forecasts, sales representative quotas, market and competitive analysis.Work closely with Marketing and New Product Development to optimize results and develop new products that are most suitable for the market and specific customer requirements.Establish communication with independent sales representative groups and to be the eyes and ears of the company for new products, competitive activity, and trends in the industry.Have expertise in prospecting and developing new business.Build relationships with key account buyers and upper management based on trust, service, and performance.Act as the leader when it relates to all matters relating to large accounts from supply chain to marketing to merchandising.Have strong financial acumen and P&L responsibility.Have a thorough understanding of the market, consumer, industry and the competition.Become the expert for the category as far as the buyer is concerned.

Qualifications for this position include:A minimum of ten years of experience in a senior sales management role for companies with revenues in excess of $50 million in the housewares or tabletop industries.Ability to aggressively grow the company's revenues at maximum profitability.A demonstrated track record of building sales and expanding the customer base.Visionary leader in what lies ahead in the retail industries served.Excellent leadership skills and experience in developing a successful sales organization.Direct selling experience with Mass Merchants, Warehouse Clubs, Big Box, Department Stores and Specialty Retail Chain stores.Have excellent business relations with senior buying staffs at key accounts.Financially savvy with excellent communication and computer skills.
