Complete operations management-logistics responsibility in multiple consumer product accounts for a 3rd party dedicated Food distribution/transportation Company. Oversee warehouse operations 50,000 sq. ft.  15 vehiclesResponsible for the hiring, training, and performance Adjust staffing levels up or down based on current volumes. Track productivity data and implement programs for improvement. Ensure that customer update reports are distributed on time daily, as scheduled. Produce performance reports and executive summary reports monthly. Conduct scheduled safety meetings with the shift managers and dock workers and drivers on a regular basis. Ensure compliance to safe work practices at all times. Ensure all contractual metrics for inbound and outbound processing, and inventory control, etc., are consistently met or exceeded. Responsible for maintaining a high level of accuracy (99.5%) on all outbound shipments in order to avoid claims. Must be able to operate in an efficient/cost conscious manner so that all budgeted objectives are achieved. Maintain a clean and organized facility that is "tour ready" at all times. Work closely with senior management on all Human Resources issues. Identify areas for improvement in all aspects of the warehouse operating, further develop standard operating procedures and implement on all shifts. Investigate the possible implementation of an incentive program. Monitor yard activity, trailer aging and avoid potential detention/demurrage charges by reviewing daily yard checks. Create and maintain a well-trained staff that could be promoted through cross training and mentoring. Adherence to all management by objectives. Local and line haul transportation operations Inventory control Team player Computer applications using MS office Working knowledge of warehouse / mechanical equipment Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, FDA regulations and the willingness to become certified in one or more of these areas as necessary Promotes positive employee relations; ensures safe work environment for all employees
