We are currently searching for a Windows Systems Engineer to build, maintain and provide support for Windows OS systems, software/systems configurations, and data center related activities.  This position must comply with systems engineering standards and program documentation requirements.  Additional responsibilities include supporting other computing architectures such as security, virtualized server hosting environments, intranet and Web platforms.

 

Mandatory Qualifications: Minimum 5 years experience in a 1000+ node Windows environment supporting business critical systems. In-depth experience with the system design and administration in at least 2 of the following: Windows 2000/2003 Server Operating Systems (including MS clustering technology) Windows 2000/2003 Active Directory Exchange Server 2000/2003 including disaster recovery Experience with the system design and administration in at least 3 of the following: Sharepoint 2003 Live Communication 2003 SMS 2003 Citrix Presentation Server VMware ESX Proficiency with the Internet and infrastructure protocols and standards including: TCP/IP, ICMP, SMTP, IMAP, POP3, MAPI, DNS WINS, CIFS, DHCP, LDAP, FTP, etc. Firm understanding of Windows security including file system permissions, file sharing, event logging, performance monitoring and disk administration. Knowledge of one or more databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL, Universe) Knowledge and understanding of internal and external disks, hardware connectivity, disk arrays, tape drives, hard-copy devices, hardware shutdown and boot-up procedures, and disk format configuration. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communications. Ability to successfully deal with multiple tasks while under pressure. Microsoft certification, MCSE on Windows Server 2003. Bachelor's degree preferred.
