ASSOCIATE CULINARY INSTRUCTOR Job Description The Kitchen Academy is a contemporary cooking school that provides hands-on, kitchen-only instruction in a fast-track program that values and nurtures individual creativity while providing a solid foundation for a career in the culinary field. It is the latest addition to one of the world's leading providers of post-secondary, for-profit education. The second campus will be located in Northern California.ASSOCIATE CULINARY INSTRUCTOR Sacramento, CAResponsibilities: Responsible for assisting the Culinary Instructor with both in-class and out-of-class activities of the students under their instruction Help identify "At Risk" students and relay this to the Academic Dean for further action Submit all reporting forms per corporate and college requirements Responsible for the safety and sanitation of the lab/kitchen, classroom, equipment and students within their area of instruction Follow the subject curriculum to create a consistent education for every student Assist in developing/administering written and practical tests related to the information being covered within the class Evaluate the students' ability to comprehend, perform and retain the information, as well as their grasp of practical techniques being covered, using a range of assessment techniques Assist in maintaining all budgetary requirements within their area of instruction Other duties as assignedRequirements: Associate's of Occupational Studies, Culinary Arts degree or other related education/experience Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant industry experience as a Sous Chef or higher Hospitality/Restaurant/Hotel etc industry experience Strong leadership skills High degree of technical ability to relay information in a manor that provides a positive learning experience and instills a passion for the profession Ability to demonstrate concern and sensitivity towards students and their individual needs and learning styles while providing a consistent education for all studentsThe Kitchen Academy offers top salaries and a comprehensive benefit program that includes: Medical, Dental, 401(k) and Employee Stock Purchase Program.
