Academic Programs Manager

Philadelphia Life Science Institute is seeking a resourceful, detail-oriented, energetic manager. Directly directly responsible for supervision of the academic instructors, scheduler, test specialist, career preparation specialist ; Multi-task leader wanted. Plan, coordinate, administrate, evaluate and directly supervise: academic instructors; primary focus: Academic Programs, programmatic activities, GED, reading, math, ESL, health education, driver education, parenting, enrichment, tutorial, testing, high school on line, volunteer programs and other special educational programs in compliance with government and management directives. Knowledge of: budget; monitor and control expenditures. Coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with overall center objectives. Teaching/education background preferred; state teacher certification a plus. "Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions"

 



Education Requirements & Experience:. Bachelor’s degree (Masters Preferred) and valid teaching certificate in the state of employment and three year related experience required. Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency also required. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
