Accreditation Specialist

The National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts & Sciences, Inc. (NACCAS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed in 1969 to promote standards of education in postsecondary training in the fields of cosmetology, electrology, massage, and related fields.  NACCAS currently accredits approximately 1000 private, for-profit post-secondary institutions in the United States and Puerto Rico.  The 13-member board of Commissioners delegates implementation of policies and procedures to staff headquartered in northern Virginia.

 

NACCAS is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and this enables institutions accredited by NACCAS to participate in programs for the benefit of their students.

 

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor's Degree and some experience working in an office environment preferred.

 

Spanish and/or Vietnamese fluency a plus but not required.

 

Brief Position Description:

 

National accrediting agency seeking full-time accreditation specialists.  No experience necessary.  Will train.  Position entails 40% domestic travel.  Excellent oral and written communication skills a must.  High level of contact with member schools and evaluation team members.  Attention to detail required to review applications and documents for compliance with NACCAS accreditation requirements and to write and compile information for Team Reports from evaluation visits and action letters detailing Commission decisions.

 

Salary:  Low to Mid 40s depending on experience.
