Afterschool Teacher grades Pre-K-2nd beginningSeptember 2008

 

The YoungerAfterschool programprovides a warm and friendly environment for Pre-K through 2nd grade students,encompassing a variety of choices within a consistent structure. Physicalactivities, games, art and craft projects, cooking and baking, and exploringthe interests of the students fill up each afternoon. Development of social andcommunication skills is also emphasized, including collaboration with classroomteachers to provide a consistent approach to each child’s needs. Theprogram is taught by a team of 3 teachers who work together to create anddevelop activities. Families are an integral part of the school and open andclear communication with parents is important as well.

 

The FayerweatherStreet Schoolis a progressive school Pre-K through 8th grade. Candidates shouldbe familiar with the values and teaching methods associated with progressiveeducation. Candidates should also be familiar with the developmental needs of 4- 8 year olds, and have experience working with these ages in a group setting.

 

Hours are Monday through Friday from 2:45-6:15 pm, with extended hours duringschool vacation weeks. Competitive salary, vacation time and benefits included.
