Analyst

Description:Purpose of the Job/Principal Responsibilities:- Maintain and publish periodic reports for the Operating Units of Kaplan University.- Handle communications with business stakeholders regarding validation and methodology of various Business Unit Reports- Create and troubleshoot Transact-SQL queries and stored procedures- Ad hoc data requests- Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define reporting requirements and goals.- Design, develop and deploy new reports according to specifications.- Develop business requirement documents that can be communicated to both development teams and business stakeholders based on the following: knowledge of business processes knowledge of specific data sources informal communications with business stakeholdersQualifications:Experience Required: Position Requirements / Skills Required:- Experience working with SQL Reporting- Previous experience as a Business/Data Analyst in an IT organization.- Possess strong experience creating SQL queries using Transact SQL in SQL Server 2000/2005.- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, CIS, MIS or related discipline - Visual Basic or VB Script programming a plus- Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills. - Strong oral and written communication skills.- Must be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative. - Customer-service oriented and able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. - Strong organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines.- Requires a logical and analytical approach, proven experience and capabilities in handling complex and demanding situations- Have experience delivering data to users.- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Access- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skillsA likely activities breakdown: [Examples]- Maintain and publish current reports 20%- Develop Reporting Requirements Documentation 20%- Respond to ad-hoc data requests 20%- New reports 20%- Communication with report stakeholders 20%Salary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceFull time employees enjoy these outstanding benefits: *401(k) plan *Comprehensive health, dental and short term disability & long term disability plans *Business casual dress code *Sick days, personal days, holidays, and vacation days *A friendly, team oriented environmentJob Location: Ft.
