Title: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR - Out Of chool Youth Programs

DIRECT REPORT:  DIRECTOR  Out of School Youth Programs

 

STATUS:  Exempt, Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Director of Out of School Youth Program is responsible assisting the director and oversight the out of school youth programs in the absence of the director.

 

ResponsibILITIES:Manage all program components and daily program operations as needed. Develop and monitor all program budgets and prepare all agency and funding source reports.  Fund raise from public and private funding sources; maintaining relations with founders. Collaborate with YouthBuild USA, overseeing the collection of data for ongoing evaluation efforts and supporting the enforcement of the Massachusetts Coalition of YouthBuild Programs. Attend meetings, conferences and workshops, as required by director. Identify out-of-school youth needs, assist with out-of-school program capacity building and identify funding sources to increase capacity. Assist the director in overseeing annual review and assessment of YouthBuild of Lowell program via continuous quality improvement for program participants, staff, and vendors. Lead/facilitate weekly staff and case management meetings ensuring staff participation and follow-through of resolutions Perform annual staff supervision and evaluation in conjunction with director. Oversight of physical, logistical and safety needs of the program.

· Participate as member of Key Management team. 

o  Following integrated interagency decision-making model.

o  Managing key agency function and/or performs a supervisor role. 

o  Attending scheduled Key Manager meetings.

· Perform other related duties.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Master’s Degree in education, counseling, human services or related field preferred.  Equivalent of education and experience will be considered.

· At least 3 years successful management/supervisory experience in Human Services or a community setting.  Demonstrated skill in non-profit fundraising and program development.

· Strong commitment to helping young people succeed in an innovative training program, to reorient their lives, nurture their leadership skills and enable them to make a positive difference in their community.

· Ability to work sensitively and effectively with multiracial and multicultural groups.  Experience working with young people in a community-based alternative education setting. 

· Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. 

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

§ Bilingual skills: Spanish or Khmer a plus.
