Assistant Director of Educational Support Services for Student Athletes



Saint Joseph’s University, located in Philadelphia is currently recruiting for an Assistant Director of Educational Support Services for Student Athletes.  The Assistant Director will be responsible for the administering and oversight of the deliverance of all academic, personal and social support services for all student athletes. Along with these important roles, the Assistant Director will also be responsible for reviewing the institution's compliance within the NCAA rules and the academic expectations of Saint Joseph's University on a per student basis.

 

The Assistant Director will coordinate the balance of athletic and academic demands on all student athletes. This includes:

  1. Reviewing athletic schedules and advising in the class rostering process.

  2. Coordinating tutoring request per student/per course.

  3. Evaluation of student athletes' progress - monitoring NCAA eligibility.

  4. Overseeing study hall.

  5. Providing academic, career, social feedback to all student athletes through personal responses, workshops or assisted by other Student Life offices.

  6. Coordinating conversations and dialogue between students, faculty and   administration.

  7. Monitor the academic progress of at-risk students.

  8. Manage the student athlete database and study hall attendance program.

 

Qualified candidate must be have Bachelors Degree and a minimum of two years in Education or related field. A Master's degree in Counseling, Sports Administration, Higher Education, Student Personnel or related field is preferred.  The candidate must have a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations as well as strong written and oral communication skills.
