Assistant teacher for preschool and infant/toddler center

Job Description:
Church based Children's Center in Arcadia is looking for an experienced and qualified teacher and assistant teacher for our infant/toddler center and preschool classrooms.

Duties:
Stimulate emotional, intellectual, and social growth of the children by implementing age appropriate educational programs and activities.

Providing a safe environment by maintaining orderly, clean and appealing facilities; following standards and procedures; complying with legal recommendations.

Encourages development of student self-control by utilizing classroom management and modeling techniques.

Encourages children's participation by providing interactive activities and understanding the child's developmental needs.

Keeps parents informed by sharing records of child's progress, as well as keeping open communication with co-teachers and director.

Ensures continuous care of children by assuming teaching responsibilities when other teachers are absent.

Maintains quality results by following and enforcing standards.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; attending staff in-service and training.

Skills/Qualifications:
Connecting with young children, deals with uncertainty, safety management, judgment, objectivity, confidentiality, dependability, emotional control, handles pressure, listening, verbal communication.
