Asst./ Assoc. Prof. Mgmt - Acct & Bus Law or Acct & Finance - Emmanuel College

Emmanuel College invites applications for a full-time position in Management, to start in September, 2008. The position requires the ability and willingness to teach courses in accounting and business law or in accounting and finance. Teaching responsibilities include three courses per semester. Ongoing scholarship, service, and participation in the activities of a liberal arts college are also expected.

About the Management/Economics Department:
The mission of the Management/Economics Department is to educate students for professional careers as managers and leaders -- men and women who can create value for their organizations and are committed to doing so in socially responsible and ethical ways. The Department offers a Major in Management that provides students with conceptual knowledge, analytical tools, practical skills, and experiences they will be able to use and build upon wherever they work. In addition, the Department offers Minors in Economics, Organizational Leadership, and Management.

Requirements:
Suitable candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellent teaching, the ability to make connections between business disciplines and across the curriculum, a willingness to embed issues of ethics and social responsibility into their courses, and an eagerness to work closely with colleagues and with students.

Required for accounting and business law position: CPA (or other accounting certification) and JD, evidence of successful teaching in accounting or business law, and potential for scholarly work/intellectual contributions. Significant professional experience is preferred.

Required for accounting and finance position: PhD or DBA, evidence of successful teaching, and potential for scholarly work/intellectual contributions. Significant professional/management experience preferred.
