POSITION:    Associate Dean of Instruction

LOCATION:    Online Education, Orchard Park, NY (suburb of Buffalo, NY)

REPORTS TO:  Dean of Instruction

WORK HOURS:  40+ includes some evening hours

 

Job Summary:

To support the college’s distance learning delivery of the Online Degree Programs to ensure that program, course and student learning outcomes are being delivered and met.  Associate Dean of Instruction will be responsible for hiring and oversight of full and part-time faculty.

 

Responsibilities:Oversee integrity of the college’s distance education programs by implementing defined strategic objectives and adhering to organizational and accrediting requirements.Assist in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, coaching, evaluating, and supervising the professional development of faculty in Online coursesAssist in maintaining quality in program and course outcomes, curriculum revision, and media selections for the Online courses to match or exceed the college’s building-based delivery to the Internet via learning management software (LMS)Act as a liaison between the 15 building-based campuses with their participation in Online classesTeach one or two courses via Online (depending on campus priorities)Participate in system-wide and Online campus-based committees, planning meetings, in-service trainings, associate meetings, and other key events.Participate in regular and comprehensive course outcome review process.

Job Qualifications: Masters Degree -- with educational theory based courses at the bachelor or master level -- is minimum required plus two years of demonstrated ability to directly supervise faculty in a higher education setting, distance learning experience a plus. Requires proven project management and team skills including the ability to lead and participate on teams of people with diverse skills The Ideal candidate must possess strong conceptual and analytical skills, planning abilities, sound judgment, superior communication, and customer service skills.  US Citizenship is required.

 

Work Schedule: The 12 month full-time position is located at the Orchard Park location of the Online Education offices. Some scheduled evening and weekend hours, as well as occasional travel for the college, may be required. This position is best suited to someone who prefers a fast-paced environment, adapts to change and seeks to actively develop new skills and grow in understanding of learning and technology

 

Salary Range:  $43000.00 - $48000.00 depending upon experience.
