Coordinator II, Operating Budget, Intergovernmental Affairs and Grants Administration (Re-Advertised)

Develops budget for various federal, state and other grant programs. Compiles data, advises, trains and assists District and school-site administrative and clerical personnel. Requires independent judgment regarding the application of budgetary policies and procedures as well as compliance of applicable School Board Rules EDGAR Regulations and Green Book provisions.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

1. Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of operating budget for assigned operational functions and District Grant programs. 2. Assists in all phases of development, implementation and monitoring of the budget.

3. Compiles, evaluates and reconciles the Budget data with the Table of Authorized Positions, and monitors and updates the position control system daily.

4. Analyzes and interprets financial reports and budget policies and procedures for District personnel.

5. Develops and implements procedures for coordinating and controlling budgetary transactions by designing, monitoring, and updating computerized reports for the accuracy and appropriateness of entries in the fiscal forecasts, continuation, preliminary, tentative, and adopted budgets. 

6. Assists school and non-school-site personnel with analyzing and resolving budgetary and staffing problems.

7. Performs other duties related to the general administrative responsibilities of the position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This work requires the following physical activities: sitting, mobility, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity. The work is performed primarily indoors. Occasional in-county travel is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. Associate’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field.

AND

Minimum of five (5) years professional and budgetary experience. Three (3) of those years must have practical experience in automated financial and/or budget system(s).

OR

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related fields and three (3) years experience.

2. Proficiency with using computer spread sheet technology (i.e., Excel) for financial and budget tracking and forecasting applications.

3. Documented experience with on-line mainframe computer applications.

4. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
