In this position you would be involved in developing the mission-critical technology that creates Pearson VUE's competitive advantage in the marketplace.Specifically working with our market-leading web-based license tracking and renewal applications you would be gathering, developing, and managing requirements while working closely with multiple areas of our business to drive the design of both the internal web based portion of the system and the external web portal used by Pearson VUE's international clientelePearson VUE's high -performing development groups make use of innovative industry leading tech and process in a relaxed and flexible culture.For additional company information please visit:www.pearson.com www.pearsonvue.com Scope and impact of the jobWorking closely with internal/external clients, program/product manager, and software development team, the Business Analyst is a key facilitator, acting as a bridge between the client, project stakeholders and the software development team. The Business Analyst is both the business requirements source and the business communication liaison source in the Requirements Phase of a project. Objectives(in order of priority)Gather requirements for Pearson's market leading license renewal tracking application by interviewing internal/external clients and SMEs in individual and group sessions to drive the design of both the internal web based portion of the application and the external web portal used by Pearson VUE's international clientele.Write both high level business requirements and low-level functional requirements documents including the creation of business process flows, software requirements, use cases, business rule documents, and user interface mockups.Work closely with database developers and leverage previous experience with relational databases to produce data conversion specifications.Work closely with both project managers and functional managers to manage and coordinate the requirements throughout the entire development lifecycle ensuring adherence to Pearson's formal SDLCSmall to mid sized project management experience. Experience:Bachelor's degree in a Business, Information Systems, Computer Science discipline or related applied experience. Familiarity with web-based design, technologies and concepts required. Familiarity with relational databases systems and concepts required. Experience in process flows, requirement gathering, configuration, implementation required.Direct customer interface experience (working with client directly on project tasks; managing client expectations) a plus. Multiboard (real estate, nurse aides, etc.) licensing knowledge a plus.Real world experience using: o Relational Database Management Systems (Oracle, Access); o XML; SQL query and report writing skills a plus; o Data conversion (includes data mapping and complex data conversion logic) a plus; ando Microsoft Office tools ' Word, Excel, Power Point and Project.Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Understand workflow processes, workflow design, and translate business specifications into business requirements for IT department.Ability to provide technical alternatives, recommend solutions, and participate in implementation; Well organized and detail-oriented.Expertise in multi-tasking in order to deal with many projects in various stages of scoping, design or development and data conversion.Project management experience a plusPearson VUE is an equal opportunity employer.
