Business Office Manager
Purpose of the Job:As the Business Office Manager at Thompson Institute - Philadelphia you will oversee all the business functions of our campus. You will play a mission critical role to keep our business processes in order, implement effective management structure, and improve collections procedure. Responsibilities and Typical Activities:· Manage and oversee all business functions of the campus including past due funds, cash flow, revenue, billing, month end, collections, accounts receivables, withdrawal process, and credit balances.· Develop and monitor accountability goals.· Oversee communication between Student Accounts and all other departments.· Participate and conduct daily/weekly accountability meetings.· Review write offs, aging reports, earnings/extract reports, receivables, and monthly bad debt for accuracy.· Finalize month end closing.· Oversee and schedule vendors for general operational items.· Communicate with Home Office regarding payment issues.· Oversee procedures to insure Federal/KHEC policies are being followed.· Hire, train, motivate, and evaluate student accounts staff.· Timely completion and submission of required reports.· Review P&L statements for variances from budgeted amounts.· Ensure institutional compliance with financial and state aid laws, regulations and policies. Required Experience:· Baccalaureate degree in Finance or Accounting, Master’s degree preferred.· Must have at least three years management experience. · Must have demonstrated, strong background in Collections.· Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) applications.· Possess the ability to be highly organized and detail-oriented, and consistently display the highest levels of integrity.· Possess effective oral and written communication ability for individuals and large groups of prospective students and their parents, secondary school personnel, alumni, current students and their parents, as well as administrators and faculty.Who we are: Thompson Institute - Philadelphia is dedicated to providing quality programs to its approximately 750 students.
