Business Process and Systems Analyst
The Business Process and Systems Analyst is responsible for developing, implementing and updating the Controller’s Office policies, procedures and Internal Control Plan, along with administration of the finance system security access and the development of analytical reports. This position provides user training and support to campus departments on business processes, and accessing and understanding financial information. The position requires interaction with many academic and financial areas of the campus and requires close coordination with campus and off-campus governmental, financial and technical staff. It requires expertise in the official University accounting system, standard accounting practices and procedures, as well as knowledge of the many Federal, State, and Trustee regulations, policies and procedures.
Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Business, Accounting/Finance with a high level of computer literacy, or commensurate degree and/or experience. 5-7 years of experience in business process, systems and/or financial operations. Proven ability to document business processes, both technical and operational. Experience documenting/implementing internal controls. Extensive experience with automated accounting systems, with security software and PeopleSoft/Oracle experience preferred.
Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial operations, auditing practices, system integrity and quality controls. Proven skill in designing and developing analytical reports to support financial operations. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with strong interpersonal skills. Experience in Higher Education, government or non-profit organizations preferred.
