Career Advising and Employer Relations Manager, Student ServicesWeatherhead School of Management (Jobs #7770 & 7771) The Weatherhead School of Management Career Advising & Employer Relations Manager is responsible for building solid, value adding, positive relationships with Corporate/Client partners, Students, Faculty and Alumni. The quality of the relationships (strength and depth) and a clear understanding of individual and organizational needs are essential to effectively generate career opportunities, facilitate student career search/interview preparation and successful student placement in internship roles or full-time employment. Activities to support these objectives include the following:1) Participate in the development of industry/employer strategy on a local, regional, national and international basis; draw upon industry and employer experience; continually update knowledge; identify and share industry and market trends and observations. (5%)2) Identify and initiate partnerships with new Corporate/Client contacts. Meet with existing Corporate/Client partners regularly to identify current and future needs for full-time employment, internship opportunities and project assignments; ensure Corporate/Client partners' experience with the Weatherhead Career Center and Weatherhead students is positive and valuable. Participate in relationship building events such as career fairs, professional association meetings and student club meetings. (40%)3) Meet with students to provide guidance and assistance with career decision, career planning and job search activities; assist with resume development; identify available resources such as CareerLeader, publications or workshops; make recommendations based on individual career goals; utilize industry and Corporate/Client partner knowledge to assist students with preparation for the interview process; identify resources to provide additional support, i.e. key alumni; conduct mock interviews and coordinate/facilitate career search/interview preparation sessions. (45%)4) Collaborate with and communicate regularly with Weatherhead Career Center staff to ensure service continuity is maintained for both students and employers; create, coordinate and participate in additional student learning and networking opportunities including career panels, creative interviewing practice sessions, the Weatherhead Career Fair as well as national career fairs. (10%)REQUIREMENTS: Education; Bachelor's degree required; Masters degree preferred. Professional Experience; Three to five years, preferably in Human Resources, Training & Development or Career Development, in a corporation, a public agency or consulting/staffing firm. Experience conducting, administering and interpreting skills assessments/tests; success in coaching and advising managers and employees or students/clients on career decision, career pathing or succession planning; experience in recruitment and selection for professional -level roles in Finance, Marketing, Healthcare, Consulting or other professional fields. Ability to develop content and deliver effective training sessions. Ability to create tools and resources to enhance provision of services to students. Essential Skills; Strong written and oral communication abilities, ability to assess student skills and attributes and match to employer needs, ability to establish credibility with both students and employers and strong presentation skills required. Technical Skills; Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
