The Department of Architecture in the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning at Cornell University invites applications for the position of department chairperson. The chair will have responsibility for the management of the department's academic and operational affairs in Ithaca as well as at the College's longstanding program in Rome and at its recently initiated New York City program

The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics: The ability to oversee an ambitious program of curricular development that reflects an ongoing commitment to excellence in architectural education at Cornell, to develop opportunities for greater interdisciplinary collaboration within the College and within the University as a whole, and to build upon already extensive contacts and interactions both in the US and internationally.A record of distinction in professional practice, scholarship, and/or teaching, will have a developed and ambitious pedagogical vision, and will have proven administrative expertise.
