The Company

Our client is a manufacturing and importing company located in Texas with warehouses in Maryland and Utah and an Asian manufacturing subsidiary.  This medium-sized, fast-growth company is looking to add to its professional executive team to improve its ability to aggressively grow, to provide owner returns through increased operating efficiencies, and to reduce risk.  A major factor in these efforts will be a proficiency in process management and quality-based leadership.

Responsibilities

·         Oversee and improve procurement and vendor management systems to ensure maintenance and enhancement of material cost advantages and Quality Control.

·         Master the core competencies and capacities of production and fulfillment operations, providing optimal control, quality and efficiency while maintaining the company’s award winning service levels.

·         Continually improve the production landscape utilizing quality system methodology, such as 5S and lean concepts without compromising core competencies that set the company apart.

·         Manage multiple projects including key cross department personnel and lead each team to ensure thorough planning, interdepartmental coordination, performance metrics reporting and attainment of key objectives as outlined by the CEO.

·         Utilize skills in Inventory Management, Business Projections, and International Development to drive efficiency & effectiveness within a multi-national, complex manufacturing environment.

·         Administer and drive extreme customer service to maintain a dependable, aggressive unit that ensures the highest percentage of customer satisfaction through discipline and predictability.

·         Ensure facilities readiness including remote locations with continual system auditing and compliance, as well as effective maintenance programs.

·         Drive the company human resource programs by implementing better communication and documentation of expectations, performance and reinforcement systems.

·         Assist the CEO in the formulation and attainment of an aggressive business growth plan.

·         Maintain quality relations and provide excellent support towards fellow executives, key suppliers, shareholders and other company business connections.  Provide growth support and inspiration to the employee populace.

·         Lead by example, with commitment, dedication, decisiveness and persistence providing a source of inspiration during crisis and a catalyst to continually build on successes.

·         Provide an important operations perspective to the new product development process while facilitating the ability of operations to drive these projects forward.

 

Travel

Ability to travel extensively, including internationally, for long periods if the situation dictates that this is needed.

 

 

The CandidateEducation

Undergraduate degree required.

 Professional Qualifications

·         Four year college degree and at least 10 years of operations management experience in manufacturing.

·         Prior experience and understanding of the educational industry.

·         Thorough understanding and experience with the financial aspects of Inventory control systems, Materials Resource Planning and Production Scheduling.

·         A successful track record in importing activities including an in depth understanding of business within key foreign cultures.

·         Superior professional management skills including leadership, organization, documentation, training, and process engineering.

·         Strong business relationship skills to maintain and improve key relations in all business sectors.

·         Thorough planning skills including strategy, tactics, metrics and recording will be required for all important business functions.

·         Job requirements documentation design, for personal and department performance review as well as potential rewards systems is required.

·         Ability to manage Capacity Planning including identification of potential OEM customers, marginal break-even and overhead allocation to ensure effective decisions on marketing of excess capacity as well as performance to ensure the expected results.

·         Ability to perform Make versus Buy decisions, Automation Decisions and Capital Expenditure recommendations based on ROI analysis.

·         Extreme customer care mindset includes placing the utmost priority on customer needs and ensuring that the operations managers and fulfillment team are prepared and willing to do everything it takes to meet customer expectations.

·         Highest levels of Personal Integrity and Honesty

·         Ability to facilitate and manage change to transition from an entrepreneurial culture to a quality-driven proactive planning culture without losing vivacity.

·         Successful track record in International Business negotiations and logistics.
