Clinical Coordinator

Midwestern University seeks a full-time Clinical Coordinator to join the Family Medicine department. This position will work under the direction of the Department Chair, Family Medicine. Primary duties include:

 Assign clerkship sites and monitor MS3 and MS4 students in clinical rotationsCommunicate rotation and instructive information to the MS3 and MS4 classesAssist the course director with the implementation and delivery of the MS4 course; including web-based deliveryIdentify and assist students with problems/difficulties that may arise during FM rotationsCreate and fax malpractice letters to rotation sites including immunization records when appropriateTrack and compile student evaluations and enter them into the MEMS systemCalculate clerkship evaluations, test scores and homework grades and enter the data into the students CARS profileSupport department communications with clinical rotation sitesCoordinate the delivery of the ACLS/BLS training program with the education coordinatorAssist in the development of new sitesMaintain the Family Medicine information on the Clinical Education WebsiteAttend Clinical Education department meetingsAttend Family medicine department meetingsIdentify and assist students with special circumstances (hardship) and forward such information to the Chair and Associate DeanCollaborate with the education project Specialist and the Pre Doctoral Program Director during the design, development and implementation of assessment projects  Preclinical Assessments (PCA)Objective Structure Examinations (OSCE)Clinical Integration Seminars (CIS)Assist the POM Lab course director in coordination of the POM LabIncluding, ordering Lab supplies and preparationAssist the ICM Lab course director in coordination of the ICM LabCoordinate the 2-step PPD mass injection for the MS2 classIncluding ordering supplies and enlisting volunteersCoordinate the HEPAA mask fit testing for the MS2 classWith other coordinators – collect, copy and distribute copies of all MS2 immunization filesCoordinate the MS2 Clinical Orientation at the end of the school year
