The Paul McGhee Division, School of Continuing and Professional Studies, New York University invites applications for a full-time Clinical Faculty/Coordinator position in Business Studies with responsibility for teaching, curriculum development, advising, and overseeing adjunct faculty hiring and supervision. This is a nine-month, non-tenured, three-year renewable faculty appointment with administrative responsibilities. The position will be available as of September 2008, with a possible delayed starting date of January 2009. (Depending upon qualifications, the appointment will be at the clinical assistant professor/clinical associate professor/or clinical professor level.)
The McGhee Division for undergraduate studies serves primarily a student body of motivated adults, most of whom pursue their degrees while balancing work and other responsibilities. Most intend to go on to further graduate and professional degree study.
The successful candidate will have the ability to guide the development of the B.S. in Leadership and Management program (one of the largest and most robust programs in the Division), in the context of a liberal arts education and in collaboration with other faculty within both the Division and other graduate, undergraduate, and continuing education programs in the School.
The ideal candidate will have a strong global perspective and a successful record of teaching, scholarship, and service as well as substantial professional management and academic experience. The candidate must have academic qualifications to teach undergraduate international business, management, or marketing courses. Applicants should have prior experience in hiring and managing an adjunct faculty corps and in evaluating teaching effectiveness. Experience in overseeing student advisement and related academic administrative responsibilities is highly relevant and desirable.
Qualifications: an earned Ph.D. or relevant doctorate and professional experience in a business environment. Applicants for the position should have 5 years teaching experience as well as experience in at least two of the following curricular areas: executive management and leadership, international business, and marketing. Preferred experience in developing and delivering online courses.
