The Clinical Nurse Educator is a professional nurse who possesses knowledge and clinical skills in an area of clinical specialization. Wound, Ostomy, Continence (ET) Nursing is a professional nursing specialty responsible for providing optimum acute and rehabilitative care for people with selected disorders of the gastro-intestinal, genito-urinary, and integumentary systems. The CWOCN nurse provides direct care to individuals with abdominal stomas, draining wounds, fistulae, drains or skin breakdown. This specialized nursing care is given independently and in collaboration with nursing colleagues and/or with members of other health disciplines and physiciansCurrent RN license. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Minimum of five (5) years nursing practice with at least two (2) years in area of specialty. Current certification in area of specialization- Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification. Demonstrated leadership, communication and teaching skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent writing, planning and organizational skills. Must have the following: BSN,BCLS,ACLS,CEN.
