POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES
Reporting to the Directors of Admissions and Recruitment, the Communications Coordinator will foster collaboration and cultivate campus-wide communication to promote student success.
Working closely with academic departments, student services offices and various service providers, the Communication Coordinator will:
• Analyze communication needs by working with enrollment managers to identify targeted students and programs.
• Plan strategies for creating communications to effectively market Hunter College.
• Design and write effective communications for prospective, admitted, and current students.
• Assist in implementing Customer Resource Management (CRM) system and training other staff to use the system to communicate with students.
• Create and manage communication plans utilizing the CRM system to ensure regular and clear communications.
• Manage content on prospective student VIP web-pages.
• Update information communicated via the virtual advisor system.
• Work with student writers to ensure effective use of Hunter student blogs.
•Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor's degree is required and a minimum of two years experience planning and executing written communications preferred.

The preferred candidate will be experienced in motivational writing and will be innovative, creative and comfortable with new technology. The candidate selected will be energetic, customer-focused and comfortable working with a diverse and accomplished student body. A strong commitment to student service is a must.

Candidates must demonstrate:
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact as a member of a team;
• A high level of organization and attention to detail;
• Ability to work efficiently and independently on multiple tasks;
• Flexibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
• Knowledge of appropriate software applications; and
• Good common sense is mandatory, a sense of humor a plus.
