Coordinator, Electronic Communications & Web Content Services

BASIC FUNCTION:

Coordinate overall Web content strategies, including the creation, design, content management and policy support for Kent State University's Web sites.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure that all top-tier levels of Kent State University's Web site are maintained in compliance with visual identity standards as set forth in university policy and are maintained in a state of marketplace competitiveness.  Serve as primary content administrator for Kent State University's Web site and contribute to content management of the university portal. Coordinate the implementation of Web-based marketing initiatives and evaluate their effectiveness, including addressing usability and navigational issues, search engine optimization and trend data; make recommendations for improvements.  Assist in management of Web casts, crisis and advisory communications via Web-based applications. Produce electronic faculty/staff newsletters, including management update and special editions of e-Inside.  Coordinate advancement of departmental electronic newsletters using university preferred content management systems. Serve as primary liaison to and act on behalf of supervisor; in regular consultation with designated departments and/or vendors.  Serve on appropriate committees to ensure adherence to standards, as well as coordination of resources. Perform related duties as assigned.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:


Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations or related field.

Three years experience in Web development and three years experience in project management;  two years of Web-based writing/editing experience.
